Hello everyone! Here’s a brief introduction about me. My name is Shirley Kwok (郭小菱). I am a banker by day, housewife by night, around the clock mother to two beautiful daughters (BabyM and BabyA), baker and blogger anytime in between.
I play many roles in my everyday life, but all share a common passion – food and fashion!
My passion for fashion started at the tender age of three while advising my cousin on how to mix and match her outfit. At the age of 10, I would draw my own designs on paper hoping to one day bring my ideas to life. My love for fashion was inherited from my mom, who is a big inspiration to everything I do. I also find inspiration from people around me. Fashion for me is an art form, which allows me to express my creativity and at the same time express my mood and personality. My outfits for work tend to be a bit more dressy so I try to tone it down to something more playful (and mommy friendly) during the weekends.
I have always appreciated food but only started to get my hands dirty during college when I was faced with the prospect of eating fast food all the time, so I started making my own meals. Again my mom is a big inspiration to me. She is a whiz in the kitchen who makes great Chinese dishes inspired by her Shanghainese roots. I, on the other hand, like to explore different cuisines.
I started StyleInk in 2010 hoping to share my experiences and passion for all things fashion, yummy and stylish. I revamped the blog after I gave birth to baby M (whom I believe is a natural born fashionista) and now BabyA as well. I then developed a habit of wearing matching outfits with her. To me, this is also a way to bond with my little princess.
