Postnatal Date Night

It’s been a while since I last posted a StyleInk Look. I have to admit I have been quite lazy ever since I got pregnant as I was tired all the time and never wanted to go out. Towards the end of the confinement period, my hubby and I went on a dinner date. I am still not back to my prenatal weight yet so there are quite a bit of clothes that I still can’t fit into yet (arghh….!). Anyway, this is my first postnatal dinner date outfit.

The Peplum Trend

If you pay attention to the fashion world, you will see that the peplum silhouette is the hottest trend for the spring and summer 2012 season. You can find this trend on tops, dresses, skirts, and jackets. Peplum dresses were a big trend at the MTV Movie Awards.
A lot of you may think the trend is only for stick-thin Hollywood starlets. However, if you accessorize well, you could be onto a winning look that will last well into autumn.

H&M x Maison Martin Margiela, It’s Confirmed!


H&M confirmed on Tuesday that they will be collaborating with Maison Martin Margiela for its autumn/ winder 2012 collection. The collection for both women and men will be available from Nov. 15 in around 230 H&M stores worldwide, as well as online.

In the meantime, H&M will be releasing an accessories collaboration with Vogue Japan fashion director Anna Dello Russo scheduled for Oct 4.

H&M x Maison Martin Margiela?

Rumor has it that H&M will be announcing a one-off holiday collaboration with Paris-based fashion house Mason Martin Margiela “soon.” I still remember the brand was first introduced to me by my mom (yes you heard! My mom is extremely fashion forward!) The house is famed for its cleft-toe boots, deconstructed tailoring and surrealist approach to classic fashion. They’ve never advertised or aspired to communicate in a mass-market way. We could only imagine what the collaboration is going to look like!

Vera Wang 2012 Fall Bridal Collection

 
The Vera Wang fall 2012 bridal collection is black and cream all over. The “Witchcraft” collection is light and airy, both mysterious and sexy. It is definitely more funeral than bridal. In traditional chinese weddings, red is a very important element. Although these gowns are gorgeous, I don’t think my family would be very happy if I wore a black wedding gown at my wedding, perhaps the cream gowns as evening gowns? I wonder if the black gowns would work for any bride-to-be in Hong Kong? What’s your take?
